Recent developments in reactor neutrino experiments
Dr. Christian Buck (MPI-K, Heidelberg)

Nuclear reactors are a strong and pure source of electron antineutrinos in the MeV range. The achievements of neutrino research at nuclear reactors so far range from the first neutrino detection to accurate measurements of different neutrino oscillation parameters. Although there is a consistent picture in a three neutrino framework, there are also observations of anomalies related to the observed reactor neutrino rate as well as the shape of the energy spectrum. Those anomalies could be hints either towards new physics beyond the standard model or incomplete understanding in the predictions of neutrino flux models.
Upcoming neutrino experiments at reactors as the Stereo project will test the hypothesis of the existence of sterile neutrinos in addition to the three known flavor states.
