Application of Density Functional Theory: Blue energy and the structure next to a (charged) wall
Andreas Härtel (Universiteit Utrecht)

In my talk I will give an introduction into blue energy harvesting and the application of (classical) density functional theory (DFT). In this context, I will discuss the impact of ionic structure for the electric double layer which establishes next to charged electrodes. In addition, I will focus on the structure of (uncharged) binary hard spheres in order to get a better insight into the more complex situation in charged systems.
