The Asymptotic Safety Approach to Quantum Gravity.
Andreas Nink (THEP)

I will present one approach of quantizing gravity, the Asymptotic Safety program.
Following these lines, gravity turns out to be non-perturbatively renormalizable, although it is perturbatively non-renormalizable.
The talk is intended to introduce the basic ideas of Asymptotic Safety and its consequences. For this purpose, functional renormalization group methods are used to derive the running of Newton's constant and the cosmological constant, and we discuss the reason for the presumably well-defined high energy behavior of the underlying theory.
