The Fractal Spacetimes of Quantum Einstein Gravity
Prof. Dr. M. Reuter (Universität Mainz)

Reviewing the basic ideas of the Asymptotic Safety program it is argued that, despite its notorious non-renormalizability in perturbation theory, Quantum Einstein Gravity is non-perturbatively renormalizable and provides a fundamental and predictive quantum theory of gravity. In particular it suggests that, on sub-Planckian length scales, spacetime has a fractal-like structure with a fractal dimension approaching two.
