Strongly correlated atoms in optical lattices
Dr. Belén Paredes (Institut für Physik)

When interactions dominate the physics of quantum identical particles, exotic non-intuitive phenomena occur: Fermions can behave like bosons, bosons can behave like fermions, and even more, strange quasiparticles which are neither bosons nor fermions can arise. I will discuss these possibilities in the context of atoms in optical lattices.
