I report on a new 3He-magnetometer capable of detecting tiny magnetic field fluctuations and gradients on a femto-Tesla level for the experiment which measures the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the neutron. For the transverse relaxation time in the 3He-magnetometer we obtained 1 hour and the 3He spins precession was measured with a signal-to-noise ratio of about 3000 Hz-1/2 which allows us to reach an accuracy in the magnetic field measurement of 3 fT per measurement cycle of 150 seconds.
