Deriving a positive cosmological constant, or four-dimensional de Sitter spacetimes, from ten-dimensional string theory is complicated.
Focusing on the problems that usually arise in such compactifications, such as uplifting and moduli-stabilisation, I will give an introduction conceptually explaining how one usually tackle these problems when it comes to deriving de Sitter, from string theory. I will then transition into describing the implications of a recent no-go that was formulated by myself and a collaborator, with some overview of the technical requirements for the no-go.
