Parton Shower Event Generators: Status and Prospects in the Quest for Precision

Event generators are indispensable tools which bridge the gap between theoretical and experimental collider physics. At the same time they have become the accuracy bottleneck for relating ever more precise theoretical predictions to equally accurate experimental observations. I will discuss recent development on improving the accuracy of these simulations, and how future development will face a change in paradigm of how parton shower algorithms are constructed.
