Physics Beyond Colliders
Prof. Dr. Joerg Jaeckel (Institut für Theoretische Physik, Universität Heidelberg)

While colliders are the most famous tool of particle physics a wide range of interesting physics and particles beyond the standard model can be probed in non-collider experiments. In this talk we will consider examples of such experiments, the particles and phenomena they can test and the motivation for these particles. CERN’s most famous experiment is certainly the large hadron collider (LHC). At the same time there currently exists a wide range of other experiments, of which a few examples will be discussed in this talk. Based on the recent kickoff workshop of the Physics Beyond Colliders study group, we will also look at a few suggested new experiments as well as some of the available facilities (and expertise) in order to stimulate new ideas.
