Spontaneous magnetic order is expected to occur in graphene in two different situations: at the zigzag edges at zero applied field and in the Quantum Hall regime, at half filling. In this talk I will discuss our recent [1,2] and not so recent [3-5] theoretical understanding of magnetic order in graphene in these two situations, the experimental state of the art, and the experiments that would conclusively confirm, or else, recent claims [6] about room temperature edge ferromagnetism in graphene.
