Pion Photo- and Electroproduction in Chiral Effective Field Theory
Marius Hilt (KPH Mainz)

Pion Photo- and Electroproduction play an important role in understanding the properties of the nucleon at low energies. We present calculations for the threshold region in the framework of chiral effective field theory. We use two different approaches. First, we make use of manifestly Lorentz-invariant baryon ChPT containing nucleons and pions only. In a second approach we also include the lightest vector mesons. Our main focus will be on the recent data for neutral pion photoproduction on the proton taken by the A2-Collaboration. We will also consider the electroproduction data for this channel at low \(Q^2\).
Finally, results for the charged channels will be presented.
