String Phenomenology and the LHC

I will first of all introduce and discuss general aspects of string phenomenology, see e.g. chapter 11 (pages 202-228) in the Pre-SUSY 2009 summary report arXiv:1001.2693 [hep-ph].
To complement Sebastians previous discussion on "Dijet Resonances", I will then go on to present the proposal by Anchordoqui, Goldberg, Luest, Nawata, Stieberger and Taylor of string resonances in dijet events in the TeV range [their short original papers are arXiv:0808.0497 [hep-ph] and arXiv:0904.3547 [hep-ph] with some later proceedings by the same collection of authors and the intricate technical details of the string computations out-sourced to some other papers by Luest, (Schlotterer), Stieberger and Taylor]. This will be a blackboard talk at an introductory level - discussion and questions are very welcome!
