In the neighborhood of a spacelike singularity, eleven-dimensional supergravity has exceedingly interesting algebraic properties. The dynamics in this limit can be described as a geodesic motion on the infinite-dimensional hyperbolic coset space E10/K(E10). We will discuss various aspects of the correspondence between these two models, concentrating mostly on the bosonic sector. In particular the constraint algebra of the supergravity theory will be addressed, which has a generalization in the hyperbolic coset model via a Sugawara-type construction.
