Running Couplings in Perturbative Quantum Gravity
Dipl.-Phys. Andreas Rodigast (Humboldt-Universität, Berlin)

Perturbatively quantized General Relativity is infamously non-renormalizable and thus ill-suited as a fundamental theory.
Nevertheless, by treating it as an effective field theory it provides insight into quantum gravity phenomenology. In this framework we calculated the gravitational corrections to the one-loop beta-functions of the Standard Model couplings. In contrast to the previous claim by Robinson and Wilczek, we found a cancellation of the gravitational contribution to its running for the gauge coupling.
